THE CADETSHIP PROGRAMME
The Pukemiro Station Cadetship is a 2 year programme.
It is extremely hands on, focusing both on the farm and in the classroom, with cadets living on site in their own cottage
throughout the duration of the programme.

Cadets will receive the following:

- Practical on-farm training in all day to day operations of Pukemiro Station including stock work, fencing, animal husbandry, feed management, farm technology and more.
- Personal training and growth such as cooking, vegetable growing, leadership, goal setting, time management and the up keep of their living quarters.

Cadets will be working towards the following Qualifications,
facilitated by EIT:

- New Zealand Certificate in Agriculture (Operational Skills) Level 3
- New Zealand Certificate in Agriculture (Farming Systems) Level 3
- New Zealand Certificate in Agriculture (Breeding Livestock Farming) Level 4

Cadets are encouraged to participate in, and are supported by the Cadetship to attend outside events, such as the Golden Shears and shearing competitions, fencing competitions, Young Farmers activities and competitions, rugby or the sport of their choice and more.
They are also able to attend open days, bull walks, sales and various other activities and events that they will learn from.

Only 3-4 Cadets are taken on each year so we look for
driven, hard working students that want to develop their skills
and gain the qualifications they need to have a successful career in the agriculture industry
